Welcome to the PixiFoto Foundation - a charity helping kids in need

 

For forty years, PixiFoto’s photographers have captured the precious memories of families world-wide.

 

In March 2004, The PixiFoto Foundation was officially launched with the view of giving something back to the community. The Foundation was developed to raise funds for charity, with the main aim of improving the quality of life of children in need.

 

The PixiFoto Foundation provides a way for people who care for kids to support important life-saving programs.

 

PixiFoto recognises that it can make a difference by supporting community-based programs, whether in Australia or overseas.

 

Our first program "The PixiFoto Foundation Childhood Blindness Prevention Project" focuses on eliminating preventable blindness in children in Zambia.

 

Our current project is supporting HeartKids NSW. Childhood Heart Disease is the leading cause of death of young children in Australia. The PixiFoto Foundation's efforts hope to raise funds for much needed equipment, research & awareness campaigns and to offer support to the families of HeartKids.

The PixiFoto Foundation is pleased to announce their support for HeartKids.
 
Incidence of Childhood Heart Disease (CHD) is far greater than most people expect. CHD is the leading cause of death of young children in Australia, accounting for more than 30% of all childhood deaths, and takes more lives than all other childhood diseases combined. Although it comes as quite a shock, an astounding 6 babies each day in Australia are diagnosed with heart disease! More than 4 young Australians will die this week as a result of congenital heart disease. 
 
Cures remain predominantly unknown and little in general is known about the disease and its causes. HeartKids is a support group for families of children with heart disease, be it congenital (born with) or acquired. Over the years, HeartKids NSW, with the help of members, sponsors and friends, has been able to help out the children’s hospitals in NSW by way of donations of money, equipment and research grants. As well as offering support to families, HeartKids aims to increase awareness in the general community and corporate sector about the high incidence of congenital heart defects and its ongoing consequences.
 
The PixiFoto Foundation’s fundraising efforts will go to assist the work being done by HeartKids NSW.
